WETE Beneficiaries Showcase Cookery Skills in Practical Session
WETE beneficiaries held a hands-on cookery practical, turning classroom lessons into real dishes. In teams, learners prepared, baked, and presented their work for assessment. Wearing aprons and caps, they set up neat workstations, followed hygiene rules, measured ingredients accurately, and managed time from prep to plating.Tutors observed each stage—mixing, proofing, oven control, and presentation—before giving quick feedback on texture, taste, and uniformity. The table display of fresh loaves showed steady progress in technique and confidence. Learners said the session helped them connect theory with practice and build habits that lead to quality results.
The practical also reinforced soft skills: teamwork, planning, and clear communication. Students left encouraged to keep practising and to apply these skills in future catering assignments and small business opportunities. WETE appreciates the centre’s staff and the programme’s supporters for making this training possible.
